INFO:
The multi-talented Jessica Tyson was one of 400 attendees at this year’s inaugural ACC Rongoā Māori Conference, and was pleased ro learn that both Māori and non-Māori are accessing the service. “It’s been great to learn about how impactful rongoā Māori is, not only for Māori but for non-Māori as well,” says Jess, who is a Māori-news reporter and founder of Brave. “Through ACC, non-Māori are also trying out rongoā because it’s something that they value.” Rongoā Māori is traditional Māori healing, and is available to all New Zealanders as a rehabilitation option through ACC. A total of 59 per cent of ACC kiritaki (clients) accessing rongoā Māori are Māori while 41 per cent are non-Māori. If you have a covered injury, you can find out more about accessing our rongoā Māori service at acc.co.nzu002Frongoa
